I've spent the last 20 years in public accounting, working across various CPA firms — before deciding I wanted to build something of my own. In 2016, that became Square Forte Consulting. In 2025, it became Square Forte CPA PC: same relationships, same standards, now under a name that reflects the CPA firm we have become.
I'm licensed as a CPA in both California and Illinois, and I'm also an Enrolled Agent, which lets me represent clients directly before the IRS on tax matters. I'm a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Square Forte is a fully virtual firm, based in Chicago and working with clients nationwide. We focus on professional service firms, IT companies, and daycares — businesses that need more than a once-a-year tax return. Most of the people I work with want a CPA who's actually reachable when a real question comes up, not just during filing season.
The name "Square Forte" is a small bit of wordplay: "square root" for analytical precision, and "forte" for the craft of doing this work well. That's still the idea behind everything we do — get the numbers right, and be someone you can actually call.
